2016’s Favourites

Welcome to 2017! We hope you had a merry Christmas and saw the new year in with style, and bubbly of course!

2016 was an eventful year to say the least, but what brightened up our days was seeing all the incredible customer creations you were busy making and printing! We couldn’t enter 2017 without looking back at some of our ultimate favourites, a ‘best of’ Friday’s Favourites compilation to inspire you all this year. Enjoy!

Best business cards – by Tilly Fudge Design

Vicky Bell’s gorgeous business cards sum up her stationery and print business perfectly. Based in Chesterfield, she’s always an advocate of balancing sweet and modern in her designs.  Plus, these business cards can probably double up as a great drinks mat too! #dryJanuarywho?

Greatest greeting cards – by Emma Traynor

It was certainly tough to choose just one design, but who can resist Emma’s happy hedgehogs and blooming lovely flowers? Norwich based illustrator and printmaker Emma is inspired by animals and nature, and her cards are perfect for so many occasions.

Most wonderful wedding stationery – by Belo Paperie

This was probably the hardest to select, because boy do you wedding stationers love sending their creations in! However Belo Paperie only launched in July and offers some seriously breathtakingly beautiful stationery, gifts and décor. Keep an eye out for Oxfordshire based Stacey Barnes in 2017, she’s sure to make her stamp on the wedding industry!

Most delightful display board – by Paper Fudge

We could also give Suzy the award for quirky, doodly designs, but unfortunately that wasn’t a print category. Manchester based wedding stationer and greeting card designer Suzy created this order of the day board, and everything on it is handrawn!

Most inspirational invitations – by Wonderland Invites

These save-the-date invites by Jenna of Wonderland Invites really caught our eye because they were the first of our new bookmark size invitations to be shown off on social media, and they are STUNNING. Such a simple yet beautiful idea.

Most-wanted wrapping paper – by Emma Baines

We felt so privileged Emma chose us to print her first wrapping paper with us, especially when it is so sweet! It’s got a contemporary yet warm Christmas feel without using the obvious festive colours of red and gold.

Most Christmassy Christmas card – by The Inky Deer

Did John Lewis steal Daisy Maude’s fox idea? The Nottinghamshire based artist and watercolour illustrator is inspired by animals and flora and fauna. We can’t get enough of Daisy’s prints, greeting cards and other paper goods!

Best calendar – by Lisa Barlow

Freelance designer, and Geordie cat lady Lisa Barlow brightened up all our wintery mornings with her creative and kooky calendar design. Calendars really are great gifts, and Lisa just shows with a bit of imagination what you can create!

Seriously sought-after stickers – by Nicola Hanrahan

Yorkshire based illustrator and pattern designer Nicola Hanrahan created unique wedding table centerpieces using stickers on old vinyl records. She designed a floral garland motif and handwrote each table name to make this individual wedding wonder.

Most perfect postcards – by Ginger Is The New Black

Graphic designer Ellie started her fun and quirky stationery brand back in September, using current trends, places and themes around her for inspiration. We love her geometric logo postcards as part of her business launch, and can’t wait to see what she does this year!

Loveliest leaflets – by Your Feed

The digital platform showcasing skills and ambitions to brands sure knows how to grab your attention. Pop your sunnies on for the brightest leaflets we’ve ever encountered.

Best brochure – by ELS Photography

Emma thought outside the box of typical marketing material, and produced a fun magazine guide showcasing her wedding photography with tips and advice packed in for couples to digest. With her love of pink hair and tattoos, we always knew her work would stand out!

Best business pack (business cards and compliment slips) – by Fall into London

Oh how we fell in love with Fall into London in 2016. Eleni’s compliment slips and business cards demonstrated her beautiful, whimsical work perfectly. If you fancy seeing her for real, she’s commonly found live illustrating in swish boutiques and at big name brand events across London.

The most innovative use of print – by Yayvm

Amy Victoria Marsh turned business cards into pin backs for her range of retro and kitsch pins. Yes that is a sushi lady! Mancunian illustrator Amy definitely showed what you can create when you think outside the box.
